The Podcast

Hairy is a non-fiction series about scary real-life stories recounted by the people who lived to tell.

The first season, DEATH IN THE SKY, is about two of the hairiest days of the Vietnam Air War. On January 16, 1969 a fighter pilot and his back seater were shot-down over the boarder of North Vietnam and Laos. The series of events that followed are almost beyond belief. The story unfolds through dramatic first-hand accounts of the veterans involved against a background of sounds and original recordings that bring the history alive.

100% of all donations will go straight to a charity (4-star rated by Charity Navigator) to help vets in need: Air Warrior Courage Foundation.

“Poignant, powerful accounts of bravery under extreme conditions.” –jonnypa68

“Captivating, authentic real-life stuff. Well done!” –Shawnairy

“Couldn’t stop listening!  This is an amazing series of true life stories told from veterans who lived them.  You really feel the fear and anxiety that these guys experienced.  The combination of interviews, cockpit recordings, and the narrator’s haunting voice really pull you in.” –Laneml

“Gripping stories have an extra edge when they are of true events, and still more when those who were there can be brought in to share what they experienced.  Not everyone survives their hairy ordeal to tell the tale, so it’s great to capture their firsthand accounts while they are still with us.” –agsprecher

“I’m probably not the target audience for a podcast of this nature.  I listen to it in my studio while I paint, and this 68-year old woman is hooked.  I find myself saying a prayer of thanks for the safety of our military pilots.” –Round Rock Express
